On a calm spring morning some fifty years ago, - Jim Caviston set out to purchase some fish for his lunch….and, in a moment of enlightenment, bought the entire shop - or so the story goes.

Some time later, his brother John, ably assisted by John's wife Margaret, took over the business. As the years went by, their sons, Peter and Stephen (helped by all members of the family) developed the business through its many stages of growth, especially in the areas of the delicatessen, restaurant, cheese counter, smoked salmon and food hampers.

 


Cavistons Food Emporium has grown through an evolutionary process that has its roots in customer satisfaction and food excellence, from a humble fish shop to an emporium that attracts discerning customers from both Ireland and abroad. The name Cavistons has became synonymous with excellence.
