On a calm spring morning some fifty
years ago, - Jim Caviston set out to purchase some fish for his lunch….and,
in a moment of enlightenment, bought the entire shop - or so the story
goes.
Some time later, his brother John,
ably assisted by John's wife Margaret, took over the business. As the
years went by, their sons, Peter and Stephen (helped by all members of
the family) developed the business through its many stages of growth,
especially in the areas of the delicatessen, restaurant, cheese counter,
smoked salmon and food hampers.
