Q: What is the name of the beneficial oil found in oily fish?
A: Omega 3. Mackerel has one of the highest contents of Omega 3.
Q: What type of fish is Rock Salmon?
A: It is a member of the shark family- known as dogfish.
Q: Can you eat the skin of fish?
A: Yes. Most types of fish have edible skin e.g. cod, plaice and blacksole skin.
Q: Any suggestions on how to cook squid?
A: Either very quickly{less than 5 minutes}or for quite a long time{1hr +}.
Q: What is beluga caviar?
A: The roe or eggs from quite a rare fish called beluga sturgeon.
Q: How can you tell if a fish is fresh?
A: It can be quite difficult. Trust in a good fishmonger. Smell, color and texture would indicate how fresh a fish is.
Q: What is the best way to cook fish?
A: Fish can be cooked in various different ways. including baking, frying, steaming, grilling, poaching etc. The important thing is not to over cook it.
